Found a bottle of tequil'r in the bottom of the river, took a sip - it dripped clear and true Then I took a swall'r and it made me hoot n holler, now there's nothin in this world I won't do
The River with provide if you open up yer mind, take a dip, take a swim or two
You gotta visit her often and she'll keep you from the coffin
Show respect and She'll provide for you...
When I'm out-a walkin', the River gets to talkin; I take a seat and I crack a cold beer
She speaks to my soul, makin' diamonds from coal, and together we shed a few tears
The River will provide if you open up yer mind, take a dip, take a swim or two
You gotta visit her often and she'll keep you from the coffin
Show respect and she'll provide for you...
Go to church on the banks, my sufferin' she takes. As for tithe, I give all that I can
Pickin' up trash, 'cause I aint got much cash - her love surprasses that of any man
The River will provide if you open up yer mind, take a dip, take a swim or two
You gotta visit her often and She'll keep you from the coffin
Show respect and She'll provide for you...
Show respect and She'll provide for you...

This song really is based on a true story about a time when Cole and I found a sealed bottle of Don Julio partially buried in the mud, under water, in the Delaware River.
Big big thanks to Greg McGarvey for playin' alongside me at John & Peter's and for putting together the above 'music video' of our performance using a mixture of footage- all the really good shots were taking by Katie Kahpaxe. Check out Greg and Katie on social to book gigs and photography sessions of your band, respectively. @gregmcgarvey @kahpaxe
Peace on Earth,
